The New Hato Nuevo School is a school for students from kindergarten to seventh grade.  The site is a semi-rural area on the outskirts of the city of Guaynabo.  Forty classrooms plus support services such as a library, a dining hall and administrative areas are arranged in two floors around a courtyard or learning plaza.  The four pavilions that enclose the courtyard are connected by an open corridor on both floors.  The arrangement of horizontal circulation vis-a-vis serviced space allows for natural ventilation and natural light to be provided to virtually all habitable areas.
